Supreme Court: No Criminal Opinions Released Today

4/3/13.  No opinions today.  The court did, however, grant review in these criminal cases:

State v. Gerber, Minn.Ct.App., 1/22/2013).  State v. Lindsey, Minn.Ct.App., 1/14/2013.  The court granted review in each case, but stayed proceedings, pending the outcome of State v. Dereje.  That's the case where the parties submitted the case on, shall we say, less than stipulated facts.

State v. Hentges, Minn.Ct.App., 2/7/12(40-CR-09-786).  Best I can tell, this started out as a criminal non-support prosecution, felony level.  Back in 2009, no less.  Apparently, Mr. Hentges is attempting to appeal something to the court of appeals, but as he is doing so his exact whereabouts are something of a mystery.  There is an active warrant for his arrest.  The state is attempting to end the appeal, and the supreme court has agreed to step in and say what should happen next.

State v. Ali, Minn.Ct.App., 1/14/2013.  The court granted review, but stayed proceedings, pending the outcome of State v. Irbythe case where the judge wasn't living in the district.
